TURKEY day

Today we had the pleasure of having Mr. Spears share with us his turkey.  Mr. Spears shared a lot of interesting information about turkeys.  The students also had a chance to touch the turkey and look at it closely.  We loved having Mr. Spears and Mr. Turkey visit us today :)

Pep Rally for the Panthers

This afternoon we had a pep rally for our senior high Panther football team.  It was so much fun!!  The football players entered the gym through a run through that Wooster made for them and a gym full of S-C-R-E-A-M-I-N-G students :)  Our class made a sign for the team.  Several of the football players and Coach Tribble (the head coach) talked to our students about responsibility, respect, and cooperation.  We had a little fun, too.  Some of the teachers and coaches participated in "The Chicken Dance".  Such a fun day!!!
This is the sign our class made.  All the students signed it.

Spirit Day

Today was our Spirit Day for October.  We had a lot of fun and celebrated the students that showed Responsibility during the month of October.  Here is a picture of our character kids as they received their ribbon.  Way to go guys!!!

Lunch-Lady Land

Last Friday the 2nd Grade classes took a little trip to the cafeteria where the students had the opportunity to watch the cafeteria ladies cook the brownies for lunch.  We spent this week talking about recipes (reading and writing them) and talking a little about measurement.  This was a great introduction to our lessons this week.  The students really enjoyed seeing how much went into just making the brownies for lunch.  They were very impressed that the ladies had to add 70 eggs to the batter. I think that the thing the students enjoyed the most...wearing the hair nets :) Each student (and teacher/adult) had to wear a hair net since we were going into the back part of the kitchen.  We were very fortunate to have a Watchdog Dad with us on this day.  Mr. Palmer was a great sport and we are glad that he was able to experience "lunch-lady land" with us.  Great times and great memories :)
