I am so proud of our class.  Every student earned their AR points for this year and got to attend Fun in the Sun.  We had a great time!  Here are a few pictures...

Letters Across the Country

The past couple of weeks the students have been writing letters to 2nd graders across the country.  Each student had a state assigned to them.  They wrote a letter and addressed it to a 2nd grade class at a school in their assigned state.  We were finally able to mail them off yesterday.  We will see how many states respond to our letters. :)

Nonfiction Challenge Reward Trip

Today, our class had 10 students who earned that opportunity to go to the Conway Library for the Nonfiction Challenge Reward Trip.  These students read at least 9 nonfiction books during the month of March and passed AR tests on each book.  It was a fun time and many students were able to check out some fiction and nonfiction books.  Here are a few pictures from our trip...

When we first got there, our students were able to learn about different fiction and nonfiction books available to check out and they had the chance to listen to several stories.

Today we had our toad races for Toad Suck Days. Jacob and Marlee were the two students in our class that brought toads to race. 

Wooster is taking THE PLUNGE!!

Last Saturday, several teachers and an administrator participated in the "Polar Bear Plunge" to help raise money for special olympics.We tortured ourselves for a good cause :)  I just thought that I would share a few pictures from this...

Spirit Day

Last Friday was our turn to introduce the character word of the month to the school.  We introduced the word "Optimism" by singing a song about being proud of who you are.  Here is a picture of a few students from our class participating in the song...

During our Spirit Assembly on Friday, Madison was awarded with the "AR Award" for having the most AR points for the entire 2nd grade last 9 weeks.  We are proud of you, Madison!
